Can Salvation Be Taken From a Christian?

First, we address the question of whether a Christian can lose their salvation at Can a Christian Lose Their Salvation.  In this article, we address the question of whether salvation can be taken from a Christian.  Now, you might think that the two questions are the same question expressed in two different ways.  However, that is not so.  Let us explain:

The question “Can a Christian lose their salvation?” historically means “Can a Christian do anything to end their salvation?”

The question, “Can salvation be taken from a Christian?” means “Does God ever change his mind about maintaining a real Christian’s salvation?”

Now, can salvation be taken from a real Christian?

Romans 11:29 says:  “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”

This means that God never changes his mind about maintaining the gifts and calling (status and role) that he gives people.

Ephesians 2:8 says:  “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God….”

This means that salvation is a gift.

Now, since God never changes his mind about maintaining the gifts he gives us, God never changes his mind about maintaining the gift of salvation he gives real Christians.

Romans 1:7 says  “…called to be saints….”

This means “…given the calling (status and role) of people who have been given salvation….”

Now, since God never changes his mind about maintaining the calling (status and role) he gives us, God never changes his mind about maintaining the calling (status and role) of people who have been given salvation he gives real Christians.

Therefore, salvation cannot be taken from a real Christian.
